Hi all,
I would like to know/understand what a printer requires to be able to scan over email TLS/SSL.
Are we looking at the fact the printer support SMTPS?
Please correct me if I am wrong but at this point the printer would negociate the auth with the smtp server and provide the encryption that would have available. At this stage a message could be sent via TLS/SSL i.e using port 25 and the content of the email would be encrypted.
If they use port 587 then the mmessage is encrypted and aswell the channel/port? Is this the way to look at this "second part" of my question?
If you know any book or reference where i can understand it let me know.
Thanks
L
