Printing problem

Hi there,
I have an Epson XP445 printer & an Acer Aspire 3 laptop.
I can download an article from the Internet & print in a variety of colours including Black. However, when I print my own work on A4 or envelopes, for example, I can print in colour but Black comes out blurred. I have tried updating the printer drivers but the message is the drivers are correct for this printer!
Any ideas please?
