Problem setting up wireless HP 2710e all in one via HPSmart

I have managed to connect my brand new wireless printer to my wifi network but it is being presented as a DIRECT printer when I try to add it to the Windows 10 printer list. HP Smart tells me not to select any printer with DIRECT in the name but that is the only HP printer that is presented for selection and the Add fails.

Accidentally solved this by setting up the 2710e on my Android phone. That setup process did allow me to select a non-Direct driver and somehow this also got communicated to my Windows 10 PC.
