That sounds like a good idea. I must give it a try. I have used 3rd party ink cartridges for XP-432 at half the price of Epson but since Epson did a software update it blocks their use. So I too have unused and partly used cartridges, and feel annoyed about it.

This was almost a decade old post. Downgrade your firmware and you'll be able to use them again.
