Scan to email. Rare problem

When I scan to network folder all is great. When I scan to email, the email and doc arrives but there is a horizontal band about 14mm wide horizontally across the document that is blanked out (missing). Despite looking, I cannot find anything on the Web regarding this problem. Epson workforce 7715 series.
Is there anybody in the world that knows how to solve this one?
