Some questions before buying a canon pixma MX897

Dear all,
I want to buy a Canon MX897, but I have few questions:
1. If I do not have a wireless router, can it be a WiFi access point to PC for printing/fax/scan?
2. If my notebook use WiFi printing/Fax, 1 PC connect (USB) to it at the same time, can the mx897 work? I mean use both connectivity method at the same time. In fact, my old printer cannot do this. It just can use only one method at the same time.

I am looking for a answer, that I want to change my old printer. Thanks.

you can connect using wifi directly without the need to use a router, sorry not sure about the second question.
