SP c261sfnw cannot do SSL/TTS with SMTP

I recently purchased a Ricoh SP c261sfnw.
I've been able to set up scan to folder but cannot find any help with scan to email.
The only authentication options there are include Anonymous, SMTP, or POP before SMTP. There is not an option to authenticate via SSL.

I have tried multiple different SMTP servers including gmail, 360, smtp2go, with all their different ports and the MFP cannot secure a connection whatsoever.

any help or insight would be appreciated.
