Brand new MFC-J6945DW Paper jam out of the box

I just received this printer and unboxed it, took off all the taped pieces, installed ink and powered up. It keeps coming up with a 'paper jam error" however no paper has even been run through it. I have removed the trays and reinstalled them (with and without paper) as instructed and the same error keeps coming up. Any suggestions?
