canon pixma MG7540 won't turn on

Hi, I have a pixma MG7540 printer and the printer refuses to turn on. When I plug in the power chord, the warning light flashes (3~4 second on and then off for 1 second, continuously). The blinking repeats on a loop. Pressing the power button on the printer does nothing, the printer is unresponsive. I would appreciate any help in this matter.
