Attempt to scan yields "communication error;" been working fine, not aware of any software changes. Prints fine from both computers on LAN. Ethernet connected to router, printer indicates Status Connected to 192.168.1.121 which is confirmed in Router which also sees the printer at that same address. Tried uninstalling and installing printer, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers. Of course rebooting, computer, router, printer. Printer is now 1 1/2 yrs old and out of warranty, if no one can help can I get free tech support?

Problem gone but no better understanding. Only scanning generated communication error. Attempts to adjust and assure IP values on both printer and router never phased scanner issue. Full re-installation after removing drivers from computers solved.
