Canon MP620 announces a "Communication Error Has Occurred" and won't print.

I have a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.7.4. Since my Canon MP620 was new it always
announced "A Communication Error Has Occurred" when first asked to print. I open the
printer info box and hit "Resume Printing" and it does...until this morning. Now no matter what I do (check for jams, reset the printer, etc) it refuses to print. Many thanks for any insight into this matter.

If you are using it over a wireless connection, make sure that your Access Point or Router and your PC are using the same authentication.

Some people have had issues with the printer drivers and an alternative Canon CUPS driver is available

I am unable to post a link yet as I am fairly new to the forum but if you go to the canon website and search for drivers and look for CUPS
