Connecting Epson xp-432 to wired network

Hi,

Has anyone tried this?

I have got a usb to ethernet cable and connected the printer into the wired network with the WiFi switched off but it is unable to connect to the network.

I was assuming that the printer internal network connect would work without a print server since it can manage network traffic through WiFi or do I need to get a dedicated print server?
