ET 8500 - Removing wifi or simply adding USB capability on top of wifi

Hallo, Iwas wondering if someone might know this. I would like to add USB connection to my printer which is wifi connected. I inserted the cd that came with the printer but it seems to dislike me adding usb connection after it tells me that it detects a network - it locks my laptop. I do not find any epson page on the web where I can also do this without using the cd. thank you.
