How To Stop Brother MFC-L8900CDW Printing Unwanted Logs/Reports?

Hi!

Just bought a Brother MFC-L8900CDW all-in-one printer.

It works great!

However, at some point during the day, it just turns on and prints out several pages of what appears to be a fax log.

This is not something I set up. This is certainly something I did not want. It's wasting paper and ink.

I even unplugged my phone cord from the back in case it was initiating a fax.

Anyone else have this issue?

How do I stop my copier from printing this report every day?

I see that it is two years later and no one has responded. I just bought the same printer, and I have the same exact question. I have never sent a fax. The report lists all of the sending email addresses for emails that I have received, not faxes, which is quite perplexing to me.

I hope I can help someone. I contacted Brother customer support about this issue because it was wasting so much paper printing scan logs. This is the fix I copied out of chat to fix that issue.

Erik: Thank you for contacting Brother. This is Erik and I will be helping you. Please give me a moment to review the information that you provided.
ME: how do i stop my printer from printing scan logs? It just eats paper.
Erik: Thank you for holding, Susan. I hope that you are having a good day so far. I see you need assistance with
your , about the scan log. Is that correct?
ME: Yes. I want to stop the scan logs that print. I don't want to disable scanning. I just don't want scan logs to print and waste paper
Erik: I'm sorry that you're having this issue, I will do my best to help you.
Erik:
Can you please describe any troubleshooting steps that you have completed before contacting us?

ME: I look for answers in the manual and I google searched it.
Erik: I understand, thank you.
Erik: What is it specifically saying those printed pages about the scan?
ME: it is just a printed scan log showing scanning activity.
ME: GET/eSCL/Scannerstatus HTTP/1.1 Host: local host
ME: it just repeats that same line over and over depending on how many scans I have done. It is just a log that prints once or twice a day automatically without me asking for it.
Erik: Thanks for letting me know.
Erik: Are you using a Windows computer?
ME: yes, windows 11
Erik: Great. Let's try some steps together regarding this issue.
Erik: Please, follow these steps on your computer:
ME: I checked for preferences in printer settings to disable this report and nothing available.
Erik: This is a software issue from the computer.
Erik:
Follow these steps on the computer:

1. Open Settings.
2. Click Bluetooth & Devices.
3. Click Printers & scanners.

Erik: It shouldn't, however, since this is a Microsoft-related issue, if the issue comes back again, we recommend that you report the problem to Microsoft to assist them in providing a possible solution.
Erik: I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.
