HP officejet 3830, can't reinstall original cartridges

My printer was not printing black, so I removed both cartridges to try to reset them. Now I can't get them to seat properly in the slots. It doesn't click in and will stop the carriage from moving if I leave them in that position. I have tried countless times. Never had a problem before. I posted this to an HP forum and got no response.

Follow manual instructions carefully

Insert cartridge straight-in and push inward till you hear it click into position.

Thanks Ruffin. The video helped a lot. Turns out I made a very dumb mistake and was trying to put it in the wrong way!
