I have a Canon PIXMA iP4700 inkjet printer which has performed well for nearly 3 years. A fault has arisen which is uneconomical to repair and as the iP4700 model is still available I want to do a straight "new for old" swap.
However I do know the current model uses an upgraded printer driver and software which tinkers with the ability
to use compatible/refilled ink cartridges in place of Canon's expensive "genuine" ones. This printer is rather heavy on ink but as I have refilled the cartridges since day one this drawback has been overcome.
Does anyone know if there are any problems involved with my proposed "unplug/plug" idea?.
Thanks
