Look under it - there is a battery sitting there. It's a very small 1.5 V battery. My original battery was a "Vinnic L521F". So I thought, what if I just replace the battery? Did not find the exact same brand, but a GP watch battery type SR63. Same physical dimensions and same voltage. I placed the new battery in the holder and then pressed the chip back into place.
That is because the printer is registering the new one and all it's information. This is a common workaround for resetting cartridges as well.I have a workaround for this. I replaced my "empty" (but far from empty) cartridge with a new one. Closed the cover and let it register then took it out and put the old one back. Seems to work fine.
I just wanted to chime in and say that replacing the small batteries in my non genuine Brother toner cartridges did work as GOGS instructed. I have a Brother MFC-L3750CDW printer and the non genuine toner cartridges use a Vinnic L521F battery. I will say that finding the exact brand battery was a little challenging. Amazon did have them but it took about two weeks to get them delivered.
Call customer service for the ink company, they have vast knowledge of work arounds and reset procedures...My Brother printer did the same thing...girl walked me thru about 5 steps on the phone and got it to work...Last night I moved my Brother DCP-L3550CDW off its shelf (as we had to have some repairs done in that area of the office). I put it back this morning and can’t get past the “No Toner” error message.
I have removed toner cartridges, removed drums, cleaned wires etc. several times and even reset the toner low display. and still it thinks there are no toner cartridges. Any suggestions? Thank you.
