Brother iPrint&Scan says device unsupported

I'm using the windows version of the application and I've got a MFC-J485DW. I've used this software before with the same printer on another laptop and had no issues. For some reason now though it's telling me that my device is unsupported and it won't let me scan documents. Any ideas how to approach this ?
