Canon Pixma Pro-200 won't print`

I bought this Canon Pro-200 14 months ago. I have used this printer exactly 32 times, each time only printing 1- 8X10 print. I would classify that usage as "minimal". The printer sat from August until 2 days ago, (Nov 4th, 2025) with the print cartridges removed and sealed in ziplock bags. I have done this for many years with other Canon printers, (8222, Pro100) and always had good results.

A litle more background information; I use only CLI=65 cartridges from Canon. With this Pro-200, there has never been an issue with a clogged nozzle and print quality is consistent and just,... well, excellent. I cannot say enough about the quality of the prints, the printer is great. I use Canon Pro Glossy II paper, fed from the top and exiting from the front. I figure that I will print 80-100 photos in the next year. I really thought that this printer would probably last me 5-8 years with that light duty cycle. Whe I print, the printhead acts like it should. but only blank paper is ejected. I get NO error code(s) I printed a nozzle check and got a blank piece of paper. I performed one cleaning and no joy. I really do not like performing a deep cleaning, it just eats ink. The printhead has no visible signs of damage or of being clogged, (what is the likelyhood of all nozzles being clogged. So, I am going to purchase a new set of cartridges and see if that changes anything. If not, I am leaning towards purchasing a replacement printhead.

What I would really like is a way to test the printhead. I HATEI just throwing money at a technical issue, I would rather 'test' and then make a decision. I need this printer to wake up and do it's job. What if I spend 110 bucks on a set of ink carts, then somewhere in the neighborhood of 150-200 bucks on a replacement PH and none of that expenditure has fixed the issue? THAT would suck.

So, I am hoping that someone can run with this, using their "spidey sense", or their Power Rangers Secret Decoder Ring to help me get to the bottom of this pesky problem so I can go to my show in 2 weeks and make some Christmas money. Any thoughts? I am grateful for the opportunity to post this problem.

Hey, sounds like the printhead might’ve dried out a bit while sitting unused. Try this first: remove the printhead and gently clean the bottom with a lint-free cloth dampened with warm distilled water or isopropyl alcohol. Let it dry completely, reinstall, and run a normal cleaning (not deep). Also make sure the cartridges are seated properly and ink is actually flowing. If it still prints blank, then yeah, the printhead’s probably shot.
