Do Canon iP4300 Cartridges work on the iP4700?

I have some 4300 cartridges left over from my 4300 but have upgraded to the 4700 and want to know if the cartridges will work on the 4700. They look exactly the same size and fit except have different numbers on them.

The iP4700 takes a PGI 520 black and CLI 521 colour cartridges. The cartridges you have are a PGI 5 black and CLI 8 colour cartridges, so unfortunately the printer you have is not likely to accept the cartridges that you have.

If you are in need of some cartridges for your iP4700 there are re-manufactured versions that are available to buy from many on-line stores, i.e.:

Thanks for replying. Knowing the cartridges are differently numbered but do fit, am I likely to cause any damage by trying them in the 4700, or would it just not recognise them?
