Pictures not printing to true size

Hi all
I'm really stuck with this one, I'm trying to print a photo collage in A4. The college has a black border for framing but when it prints the border disappears. Printed in landscape which is the wrong way the border is present but printing in portrait which is what I was the border is gone or reduced in size.
Any help would be great
