PLEASE HELP - Xerox Copy Centre C32

We have purchased a printer - the Xerox Copy Centre C32.

When powering up we get an error message - communication problem encountered.

Someone has said that it is due to a network card and another said it may the leads not being on proper.

So I checked the leads and all were on proper and then realised that a square port that had no lead.

It is similar to a USB port but square and on one end has 4 pins.
