Setting up TS3355 on UBUNTU

OK. have downloaded :
cnijfilter2-5.90-1-deb.tar.gz
and
scangearmp2-3.90-1-deb.tar.gz

These are now on a CD.
Can some kind person tell me, in simple words, what to do next please.
(I am a new-boy to UBUNTU)
