the printer doesn't recocnize the new genuine cartidge

I bought a new genuine cartidge for my hl 2130. Before i replaced the toner, i turned off the printer as oppose to the manual. Therefore the printer doesn't recognize that the toner is new. What should i do?
help please.

I think you have to reset your printer

Fallow those step to do the same thing as me:

Open the front panel.
Turn off the printer
Hold the ‘go’ button while turning the printer on.All panel lights should be on.

Release the ‘go’ button.

Press the ‘go’ button 2 times.

Pause.

Press the ‘go’ button 5 times.
The toner light should be off.

The paper light should be on or flashing.

Close cover. The ready light should be the only light on.

First thing you need to try is to reset the printer. Turn printer off and unplug it. Wait for around 30 seconds before you plug it again.

When this fail, I guess you have to clean some printer area that is connecting with the cartridge you've bought.

If unfortunately, none of this work, this should mean that you've bought a defective cartridge and you have to ask for a replacement from the store you've bought it from.
