Typeface size

i have a fairly new Epson XP-900 printer and some output is produced in a larger typeface ... so using more black ink. B&W selected with plain paper selected. Does typeface size rely on a setting on the printer? Most print work is generated from iPads in a home network. Certainly not WISIWIG,

Character size or as you say "typeface" is determined by whatever application you use to formulate
your document. It maybe M/S WORD, Word Pad, AbiWord, or similar Mac apps. Printer preferences offer only choice of color or black & white. Check your IPAD application for options. Some Mac apps may offer
more.
