R3000 error messages

After years of good R3000 service suddenly got a new error when front loading fine art paper. Not the usual "skew" warning but a new "Paper feed error or eject error".
Today printer will not even begin, shows "Printer error, turn power off, then on ..." This does not remedy the problem. Call epson?
